A deeper focus on earthwork quantities

Earthwork takeoff asks how much ground must be excavated, placed or prepared within a defined scope. Reliable work depends on interpreting grading information, documenting the quantity basis and checking what is included before passing quantities to an estimator.

CEA’s planned Earthwork Takeoff Specialist program is intended to develop this more independent work. Production has not started. This page describes the direction, not a final syllabus or an enrollment offer.

How it differs from Foundations

Civil Estimating Foundations develops core document, measurement and scope skills through bounded assignments. The specialist direction extends toward independent earthwork takeoff and quality control. A quantity handoff still differs from pricing a complete earthwork estimate.

Program and credential remain distinct

CEA separates training from independent assessment and a professional credential. Taking a course does not itself confer the planned CEA Certified Earthwork Takeoff Specialist title. Eligibility, assessment arrangements and release details are not being announced here. Understand the certification framework.

What is not available yet

The final curriculum, lesson sequence, software requirements, assessment criteria, price, duration and opening date are not published. There is no seat reservation or priority list.
